First Semester (Aug 6 - Dec 17)
Teachers return for in-service on August 3, with students starting on August 6, 2026. The 1st Nine Weeks ends October 9, which is a teacher in-service day (students do not attend). Fall Break is October 12-13, giving families a long weekend.
Election Day on November 3 is a day off for students and staff. Thanksgiving Break runs November 23-27, covering the full week.
The 2nd Nine Weeks and first semester wrap up on December 17. December 18 is a teacher in-service day, and Winter Break runs December 21 through January 1. Students return on January 6, 2027.
Second Semester (Jan 6 - May 21)
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed on January 18. Mardi Gras Break falls on February 8-10, giving students Monday through Wednesday off for carnival.
The 3rd Nine Weeks ends March 12, which doubles as a teacher in-service and asynchronous instructional day.
Spring Break runs March 26 through April 2, wrapping around Good Friday (March 26) and Easter weekend. This is the longest break of the second semester.
Graduating seniors finish on May 7. The school year ends for all other students on May 21, 2027. Teachers and support staff wrap up by May 24.
Graduation Dates
Exact graduation ceremony dates for PAHS and BHS will be announced by each school in spring 2027. Based on prior years, expect ceremonies in mid-to-late May:
- Port Allen High School (PAHS): TBA (typically mid-May)
- Brusly High School (BHS): TBA (typically mid-May)
